Many people say that marijuana is a horrible drug because it is highly addictive. Although marijuana is addictive, it is not very physically addicting. Your body doesn't necessarily become dependant on it before quite some time. After the user does get somewhat addicted after a long period of time, being addicted still isn't fatal (Addiction). Alcohol is very addicting, much more so than marijuana. Despite this fact, alcohol is perfectly legal after a certain age. The effects of alcohol, which is also known as being drunk, usually causes more chaos or trouble than being high. People who are going through major surgeries or intensive therapy and have to deal with a lot of pain are allowed to legally use this substance. They are given a card which allows them to use the drug. If this drug was so horrible I highly doubt that any hospitals or physicians would allow them to be used. Marijuana is said to be known to give a sense of pain relief to it's patients. It is also a fact that more than 30% of physicians would prescribe more cannabis, which is the plant marijuana comes from, to their patients if only it was legal (What Are the Findings). Basically, although marijuana has the tendency to be harmful and adddicting it can all be put under control if the user is responsible. A lot of time passes by before the user gets addicted and every person should have the will power to say no before they get hooked.
